October Blog: Your Source for Information About Depression

By Christine Leccese

October is National Depression Awareness Month, and next Thursday, October 11, is National  Depression Screening Day. Most of us know someone who has suffered from depression, and have seen how it can rob the joy from someone’s life, and have a ripple effect throughout their family, community and workplace. Fortunately, depression is highly treatable if a person reaches out.

At Military Pathways, we recognize that service members, veterans, and their families are under a unique kind of stress. Therefore, the Department of Defense is partnering with Military Pathways® to encourage the military community to take a free, online, anonymous mental health self-assessment.

Throughout the month of October, the blog will focus on depression as it relates to members of the entire military community. We’ll hear from a military wife who struggled with depression, psychologists with tips for people who are trying to manage depression, and we’ll post our engaging and educational infographic that is a graphic depiction of the most pertinent facts about depression.

Stay tuned to this blog to learn everything you need to know about depression!
